Wine Cellar Dimensions

How to install a starter in a large apartment * * door leading to the wine () in the basement of a historic house?
My girlfriend's house early 1800 is beautiful wood floors. In one section, the floor is opened to reveal the stairs leading to the small area winery. Obviously, all hinges / hardware are hidden, but it just looks like a wood floor, except for a brass ring used to lift the door. The problem is that this door (wood hardwood top) is large and heavy, and lifting 70 pounds for a brass ring with two fingers is not only painful, it is hard on the back too. I have a photos and you can get the exact dimensions, but I would estimate 4 feet by 8 feet and 70 pounds. I searched the Internet for spring, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical appliances. Some exist, but certainly not marketed specifically for hardwood door residential floor, where everything must fit underneath. I do not think there are enough of these some more doors to warrant a revelation in the market for them. Thoughts? Thank you. Jason
