Wine of the Month Club?

I can not wait to get my husband's parents belonging to an a-of-the-month club wine which would send a bottle of wine each month. Can anyone recommend a good company for this? I've been trolling online for a while now and most of them seem to be in America. I need a UK based company. Thanks:)

I think Tesco do one, I saw a lady with a coupon in the box the other day – might be an idea?

How to buy good cheap wines

No matter what you may have heard elsewhere, buying good wines cheaply is easy. Just follow these Useful tips and you'll be well on the way to find wines of great value without compromising quality.

First, always "back to the small." This refers to the hunting of small, boutique wineries that do not have large advertising budgets to convince to buy their wines, or cash to buy space on supermarket shelves. In contrast, the only way they can get their wine noticed is to ensure that quality is of a very high standard. The wines of this type can be shop at stores that support small farmers.

In search of a decent, cheap wine, good advice is to seek out less fashionable regions. The trade Wine is obsessed with fashion and the result can be a commitment to quality. Bordeaux Wine Estates in California, for example, are often better known for their investments millionaires, rather than the wine itself. So to enjoy good wines without the fashion label, you should look for retailers who source their wines from places that make similar wines. Chilean Cabernet Merlot is a good alternative to Bordeaux, while Grenache Syrah blends are a perfect substitute to Chateauneuf du Pape and Chilean Chardonnay is Chablis. And do not forget New World fizz if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to Champagne.

Another helpful tip is to avoid wine brands and great wines advertising. Why? Well, large brand wines are produced in significant volumes, using mass production techniques, as wine producers seek to achieve consistency, which compromise the quality by artificial processes such as adding sugars and adding citric acid to their wines. In addition, heavily promoting and marketing their wines, which means that UPS are likely to mark significant.

Similarly, renowned business are a resounding no no. Although, through their purchasing power, large supermarkets and wine retailers may force producers to sell wines at incredibly low prices, only can be done at the expense of quality wine. To make ends meet, farmers are forced to plant on land that is not good enough to carry the name of the region or worse, to increase yields and dilute the wines. Thus, while a bottle of Chablis than five pounds may sound great, we guarantee that you'll be disappointed!

Finally, make sure you buy your wine in a wine shop online. Online retailers of wines offers much better value for money compared to supermarkets and ordinary merchants, since they do not incur many of the construction costs, which are then passed on to you, the customer. Moreover, as Online retailers are not limited by shelf space, they can offer an unlimited range of wines to merchants do not necessarily have regular space for.
