Wine Tasting Journal

What wine should I buy for my wife for Christmas?
My wife is starting to get into the wine, but did not buy anything less than $ 10 and bottles. I bought a journal of your wine and wine tasting "beginners' guide for Christmas, and now, I like to buy a few more bottles nice for her to start. Now, mind you, I like to buy a couple of bottles that are readily available, and the range of $ 20 – $ 45. Does anyone have any suggestions? She is a fan of the Reds, in particular, cab and shiraz, merlot sometimes, rarely or zin pinots. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I love wine myself and make my own. 2003 was a good year for wine so here are some good red wines that are less than $ 35.00. Paringa Shiraz 2001 – Australia Solanera Bodegas Castano 2000 Yecla, Spain Cloudy Bay Sauvignon 2001 – New Zealand Blanc Marlborough 2003 Peju Merlot – Gopfrich Callifornia 2004 Syrah – Santa Lucia 2003 California Grape Trio – Italy 2003 Raymond Reserve Cabernet – California
